Are you thinking of getting married in Nottinghamshire? If so, you are in the right place! This guide will help kick start your planning.
Stunning Nottinghamshire is also known as the ‘Queen of the Midlands’. It is the centre of English lace-making, home to the legend of Robin Hood, Nottingham Goose Fair, and fashion designer Sir Paul Smith. Nottinghamshire’s rich history, fascinating culture and beautiful landscapes make it the perfect location for your wedding. So let’s get planning…
Nottinghamshire is home to an amazing range of beautiful wedding venues. There are stunning country parks and country houses (such as Rufford Abbey Country Park, Swancar Farm Country House, Kelham House and Cockliffe House), beautiful barn style venues (such as Thoresby Park and Hazel Gap), halls and manor houses (such as Colwick Hall Hotel, Wollaton Hall and Norwood Park), and truly unique and interesting spaces (such as The Pumping House, The Carriage Hall, Meadow Vale and Newstead Abbey).

Once you have confirmed your venue and where you’ll be getting married in Nottinghamshire, you’ll want to start thinking about your wedding stationery. We love the stunning creations by Rose Press, Wild Calligraphy and Hatton & Co.

Depending on the venue you have chosen, you may also want (or need!) to start thinking about catering. That’s not such a tough job though, surely?! Nottinghamshire is home to some fantastic wedding caterers, such as Salted Orange, Summerby’s Catering and The Fiona Herbert Catering Company.

Your next task will be to find your perfect wedding cake. There are so many amazing options within Nottinghamshire – check out the beautiful creations of Green Kitchen Cakes, Storeybook Cakes and Ruby Lou’s Cake Company.

In our opinion, no wedding day is complete without a little entertainment and Nottinghamshire is definitely not short of options! Check out Richie Muir, Dream Wedding Entertainment and Matthew Knight Magician.
Your next task (and a very important one!) will be to confirm your wedding photographer. We love the work of Twig & Vine Photography, Geoff Kirby Photography and Harry Ward Photography & Videography. If you’re looking for a videographer, we love the work of Toast Films.
Now it is time to choose your wedding day attire! Nottinghamshire is home to lots of beautiful bridal boutiques, including Shade Bridal Boutique, Iconic Bride, Frances Day Bridal and DressPlace. There are also lots of suit hire and purchase stores, such as Blidworth Menswear.
Another incredibly important part of your wedding day, is flowers. Check out the breath-taking work of Gigil & Bloom, EACH Design Florals and Akito Floral Design.
To complete your wedding day look, you may want to use a hair stylist. We love the beautiful work of RocknRollerHair, Mon Amie and Everyone’s Looking Rosie. You may also want to use a makeup artist – we love the work of Josephine Way, Adele Coxon and Makeup by Jenni. You could even hire someone who does both, such as Nicola Hodgkinson!
