Five ways to propose to your bridesmaids

Gone are the days where a bride to be can simply ask their chosen ones to be their bridesmaid, as ‘bridesmaid proposals’ become more popular (and more luxurious!) all the time.

There are so many lovely ways to ask your chosen ones to be part of your day – below are just a handful of ideas that I love.

1) Keep it simple

There is absolutely nothing wrong with keeping things simple by giving your chosen ones a card when asking them to be your bridesmaid or maid of honour. There are some absolutely lovely options out there. I particularly love these gold foil cards. You could also add to the mystery of the reveal by giving them a personalised wedding scratch card.

2) Something Edible

Everyone loves a gift you can eat right?! A cute alternative to a card could be to have some cupcakes made by your local bakery. These ‘will you be my bridesmaid?’ biscuits would also go down a treat, I’m sure!

3) A Balloon Reveal

Balloon reveals are really popular at the moment – particularly for announcing whether couples are having a baby boy or girl. Giving one to your chosen few is such a lovely and surprising way of asking them to be your bridesmaid or maid of honour! This ‘pop the question box’ is available in a variety of colours, and comes with confetti to add to the reveal! So cute!

4) A piece of luxury

If you want to (and can afford to!) why not treat your chosen ones to a little luxurious gift to ask them to be your bridesmaid or maid of honour? You could, for example, surprise them with a day at the spa and ask them whilst there. Alternatively, you could give them a beautiful piece of jewellery, like these Susan Kaplan earrings, and pop a note inside asking them to wear them as bridesmaid or maid of honour at your wedding. I can’t imagine they’d say no to that!

5) A box of little luxuries

Creating a gift box for your chosen ones is really popular, and is the option I went for when asking my bridesmaids. There are so many fantastic ready-made options out there, such as this ‘will you be my bridesmaid?’ gift box. Alternatively, you could do as I did, and opt for buying a box and filling it with your choice of gifts. I opted for this bridesmaid proposal box, and popped in the following:

Regardless of which option you go for, I’m sure your chosen ones will be honoured to be asked! Try and think of what works best for you, for your wedding and for your budget. Most of all, have fun with it!
